Warburtons Acquires Roberts Bakery Ilkeston Factory
Warburtons has confirmed the acquisition of the Roberts Bakery sourdough factory in Ilkeston as part of an administration deal.
A spokesperson for Warburtons stated:
To support the future growth of Warburtons, we have purchased the Roberts Bakery site in Ilkeston. This will provide us with further capacity to meet demand in a growing segment of the bakery market.
The acquisition aims to enable the company to meet growing demand and support future growth. Warburtons wishes the Roberts family all the best for the future, having enjoyed a positive relationship with them for many years.
Meanwhile, Roberts Bakery's parent company, Frank Roberts & Sons Ltd, has been saved from administration by Boparan Private Office, owned by entrepreneur Ranjit Singh Boparan, securing over 400 jobs.
