French cheesemakers are seeking recognition for Camembert on UNESCO's list of 'intangible cultural heritage'.
A group, known as the 'Confrérie des chevaliers du camembert', has requested that Camembert be included on the list for 2025.
If successful, Camembert will become the 31st French item on the list, which aims to preserve cultural practices.
