The Arkansas football team has added a No. 5 jersey patch to honor Darren McFadden, a former player who won the Doak Walker Award and was a Heisman Trophy runner-up in 2006 and 2007.
The athletics department announced in July that McFadden's number would be honored, but not retired, and a patch would be added to both the offensive and defensive jerseys.
“It's a conversation piece,”said McFadden, who was honored on the field during Arkansas' game against Texas A&M.
