I am a week late in sharing my thoughts, as I was reflecting on my experiences in Iraq 20 years ago with the 48th Brigade Combat Team.
Last week was National Newspaper Week, which holds a special place for me. I feel fortunate to have the best job in the world, where I can share my thoughts with readers each week.
Over the past three decades, I have formed strong bonds with regular readers, despite never meeting them in person. You have been with me through both good and challenging times, offering constructive criticism when needed.
I've been at this for almost three decades and over that time, I have made good friends with readers I hear from regularly and will likely never meet face-to-face.
