Rescue Deal Saves Over 400 Jobs at Roberts Bakery
A pre-pack deal with Boparan Private Office has saved 433 jobs at Roberts Bakery.
The investment firm, owned by entrepreneur Ranjit Singh Boparan, has created a new company, Roberts Bakery 1887 Ltd, in a deal made for an undisclosed fee.
The new company is a reference to the year the Cheshire-based business was founded.
The deal comes after the fourth-generation family business, Frank Roberts & Son Ltd, filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators just over a week ago.
- 433 jobs have been saved across two sites.
- The company produces bread under the Roberts Bakery brand, as well as speciality bread and sweet treats.
- Products are supplied to supermarkets, coffee shops, and more.
