Near the Cajun community of St. Martinville, a gravel road is shaded by massive oaks and pines planted two centuries ago. According to legend, a wedding in the 1870s once took place beneath golden spider webs.
The extravagant nuptials were re-enacted around 80 years later. The shaded roadway once led to the grand plantation mansion of Charles Durand.
