West Virginia's injuries keep piling up, even during the bye week. Coach Rich Rodriguez announced that quarterback Nicco Marchiol is officially done for the season due to a lingering mid-foot injury.
Marchiol started in four games this season and led WVU on a comeback against Pitt in the Backyard Brawl. He had consulted a specialist before the Utah game in Colorado and also sought a second opinion in Arizona, his home state.
There were reports that Marchiol would medically redshirt and enter the transfer portal at the end of the season.
Despite his injury, Rodriguez hinted that Marchiol is back in Morgantown, trying to contribute to the team in any way he can.
