Plane Crash Near Fort Worth's Hicks Airfield
A twin-engine plane crashed near Hicks Airfield in Fort Worth, resulting in the deaths of two people and a fire that damaged at least ten semi-trucks.
The Fort Worth Fire Department confirmed the crash, which occurred near the 12700 block of N. Saginaw Blvd., close to Avondale, at approximately 1:30 p.m.
- The plane, identified as a King Air Twin Engine Aircraft, had departed from Alliance Airport.
- At least ten tractor trailers were damaged by the crash and caught fire, also sparking grass fires that were contained.
- The fire was brought under control within 35 minutes, at 2:11 p.m.
The response to the incident included 10 firetrucks, 14 support vehicles, and three ambulances.
